O. Bilgyuntsog: “Both my parents are hearing impaired. I watch the movie in the left side and translate for my mother in the right side.
At that time, there was only one MUNRT with a sign interpreter. And after seeing that, I thought it would be great if I could grow up to be a sign interpreter.
We are a family of four. He has a younger brother. 75% of my family always goes together.
Because my brother and I study in the same school. Now my mother works as a maid in our school.
After studying law, in the 7th grade, I rushed to my principal and said, “Please hire my mother.” My mother is disabled.”My director said, ‘We don’t hire people with disabilities,’ although I vaguely remember it now. So I said, “My mother can’t speak or listen, but she can do anything. I clearly remember saying, “I can do good to your heart.”
Six years have passed since I found out. When I found out that my mother works here, and on top of that, I wondered how my friends would treat me if I had a disability. But every thought I had was turned 360 degrees. Why is it that even children whom our friends don’t know treat my mother very well.
Your mother is a very beautiful person, and it was received very positively. My father drives a taxi for a private company. I communicate in writing because it is very difficult to understand because I am dealing face to face with many people rather than an organization.
I have never felt bad about my parents being disabled. Well, even in kindergarten or elementary school, there must have been one or two cases of depression. However, as I grew up and started working on my own, I think that my parents gave me great opportunities and very few opportunities that almost no one else can find.
I started learning sign language at the age of 4. My father draws very well. I was given 35 sign language letters on a simple notebook paper.
Today, I am working as a sign interpreter after being taught to draw by my father. Sign language is still being studied today, and the goal is to learn sign language in foreign languages in the future.
When I was little, I saw my sister, a national television signal interpreter, and I thought it would be great if she could appear on air like this person. But it seems that my dream came true a little faster.
It’s a great feeling for a 17-year-old boy to enter television and work. If not all of them, then at least 5 people are watching me, and I feel so good. Becoming a sign interpreter requires a lot of memorization and a lot of thinking.
In particular, a person called a sign interpreter moves a lot. It’s not just walking around like a zombie. For me, he tries to make people understand the main point of the news by his facial expressions.
In foreign languages, words are formed by combining letters. Words are put together to make sentences. In sign language, apart from the spelling of the word nom, there is a separate sign for nom. Each word has its own signal.
That’s why there are many words in the Mongolian vocabulary that I don’t know. I have memorized all of them. It’s not over yet. Just learning. If a word comes up that I don’t know, I ask people about it.
People who are learning sign language for the first time do it on their fingers, so their fingers are not folded. The fingers don’t come together or something like that.
Besides, the environment is very important for learning any language. People who are learning sign language for the first time, learn a little wrongly by looking for sign language on YouTube or Google. So later, it is a little difficult to understand people.
That’s why it is recommended for people who are starting to learn sign language or who want to learn it, to go to one or two deaf people and learn in their environment. Those people do not mind opening. On the contrary, I will correct one of your mistakes and advise you. So, to those who want to learn sign language, try it.
“People who are learning languages want to learn other languages, so I want to learn Mongolian sign language well and then learn Korean and American sign languages.”
