Indian doctors found 150 live worms in the stomach of a 22-year-old woman from Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh. A woman named Nehu Begam said that she had been experiencing severe pain in her abdomen for more than a month and had frequent bowel movements. Local doctors were able to perform an operation on the girl’s body successfully. Dr. Anand Prakash Tiwari, who performed the surgery, said he had never experienced anything like this before.
“For me, it was a real shock. “I just didn’t think there was such a thing,” said the doctor. However, the correct diagnosis was not immediately given to the girl.
A number of hospitals prescribed him painkillers and sent him home. All this did not help the girl, but she felt more and more pain and could not sleep. After surgery, doctors removed 150 live worms, each nearly 10 centimeters long, from her stomach. Luckily, he managed to get the worms out before the girl’s protein entered her brain. The patient got this infection because she lived in a very poor sanitary environment
