Pure fruit juice
Fruit is important for the nutrients you get, and it’s easy to squeeze fresh juice into your daily routine. However, fruit in liquid form misses out on many of its healthy elements, such as fiber, which plays an important role in preventing diabetes, heart disease and obesity. Moreover, the uncontrollable consumption of juice increases the amount of these sugars, which has a negative effect on health. In fact, some of them have more sugar than canned drinks!
Instead of drinking juice, it is recommended to eat whole fruits. One fruit is enough to satisfy your sugar cravings. But making fruit juice requires several fruits at a time.
2. Pressed fruits and nuts
Although rich in nutrients, some have added sugar. According to research, just one square of the most common people eat contains between 15 and 30 grams of sugar. On the other hand, choosing the right snack is a great way to curb hunger and avoid overeating, and it contains many important nutrients. An ideal square should contain at least 3g of fiber, 5g of protein and less than 10g of sugar.
3. Sushi
Sushi itself is not harmful. But the main problem is the various ingredients and additives in sushi. Nowadays, many sushi rolls contain mayonnaise, cream cheese, sauces and other controversial products, which increase the nutritional value of the sushi and increase the number of calories consumed throughout the day.
4. Natural wild caught fish
This problem also applies to sushi. Wild-caught fish is a rich source of healthy Omega-3 fatty acids, which can reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. But its content largely depends on what the fish eats. Unfortunately, the fish we buy in supermarkets usually does not come from the sea, but from farms. So, apart from being packed with healthy nutrients, they also contain chemical additives that farmers use to make them grow bigger.
5. Fat-free food
In the last century, fat-free nutrition was the best. Nutritionists began to replace healthy fats with processed sugars in order to preserve the natural taste of products. So they added a lot of sugar to make it seem like a healthy snack. Experts now recommend consuming products rich in protein and healthy fats, such as dairy products, cheese, or yogurt.
6. Cereals
Cereals have always been considered a healthy and nutritious breakfast. However, not all crops are equally beneficial. Most are derived from refined grains. During this processing, grains lose a lot of fiber and other nutrients. Not to mention the amount of sugar added to cereal to make it tastier and more kid-friendly.
High sugar levels can lead to diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.
7. White bread
White bread is one product made from refined grains that lack nutrients and fiber. Fiber helps maintain a healthy weight, blood pressure, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, while eating white bread can cause all of these problems.
Whole grain bread is a good alternative. In addition, studies have shown that daily consumption of whole grain bread reduces the risk of the above-mentioned diseases.
8. Soybeans
Soy is harmful to health and ecologically just as harmful. Furthermore, most soybeans are genetically modified, which means you’re getting almost no nutrients from them.
Another problem with soy is that its high content of isoflavones, or plant estrogens, can increase their levels in your body and disrupt your menstrual cycle. Another reason is that soy consumption increases thyroid hormone activity and can cause sudden weight loss, sweating, and neck swelling.
