What is a TED Talk?
TED is an acronym for Technology, Entertainment, and Design, and most of the speakers’ talks are dedicated to that particular field. As the talks became popular, they expanded into other topics such as business, creativity, and education.
The NGO organizes sessions and invites experts in each field to give lectures. The only requirement for all speeches is that the duration of the speech should not exceed 18 minutes. The main goal of the organization is to open various issues from science and business to international relations and politics.
Although it has been around since 1984, social media has gained momentum over the years to help reach people. Thanks to this, TED Talk became famous all over the world.
How to learn German with TED Talk?
If you have no doubts about your German language skills and consider yourself an advanced learner, you can watch the video without any problems. Some technical jargon may confuse you.
Other than that, you will have very clear conversations/lectures and can customize the language. The speech is slower than normal, colloquial German because it is intended for the majority of people around the world. It helps beginners to understand what is being said at full speed of speech. In some cases, the speaker giving the speech may not be a native German. In that case, the accented speech is difficult to understand at first. However, if you keep listening, your ears will get used to it.
